Review #4 - Place On Fire by MaykollGD & More

This is overall quite a decent design level. It is clearly divided into 3 parts, with some being better than others ; although that is common with collabs.

The first part, made by CreatorAlcan, suffers from its messiness. The black lines don't work and the glow is excessive, mainly because it's badly used : there's glow everywhere for no reason. Glow should be used to enhance the block design, to make it stand out ; in this part it's just floating in the air for no real reason.
The background looks odd, because it's locked the the player instead of moving slowly (which can add to the atmosphere).
I like the few touches of pink in the block designs, although the creator should have expanded on that because it makes the design much more interesting.
The ground spikes are lazy and eat up most of the space. Some simple details or other layers of ground spikes could have helped the part look more finished.
Lastly, the gameplay is not very interesting, although it's still decent.
The part at 18% suffers from messiness once again, but it's not as problematic as in the first part. The colors could've been much more interesting, simply by incorporating contrast.

Let's move on the the drop, which is the main reason I uploaded this level. MaykollGD's part has extremely good movement and vibrant colors, which make the part that much more interesting.
This part is heavy in glow, but in this case it helps the atmosphere and fits the intensity of the song more than anything.
The ground spikes have multiple layers and almost always have some details or art attached to them.
The different effects scattered around the part add a ton and really live up to the song.
Although the gameplay is a bit hard to read, it's still playable and fun once you get the hang of it.
Finally, I still think this whole part could've been polished a little better, simply by ticking "don't fade" and "don't enter" on every object, or by making sure some decoration elements don't overlap. This is nonetheless the best part of the level by a long shot.

The last part, by RickDash, is quite literally the opposite of the previous one, and not in a good way. It doesn't live up to the song at all, by using boring colors and next to no effects. This part screams for contrast and more intense movements.
Everything overlaps, the backgrounds, the air decoration, the block designs. Speaking of those elements, they're painfully unoriginal and overall uninteresting.
On the bright side gameplay is exceptionally fun to play, thanks to the use of dash orbs and jump pads.

This level is a bit inconsistent in quality, and I think the drop carries the level and makes it stand out. The other parts are just fine. This is definitely worth a feature.
