This is a time lapse of my pixel art / Animation "Megalopolis". I edited out breaks, some failed attempts and distractions, But otherwise this is the raw footage from start to finish over several days, and several programs.

We pulled out all the stops in making this feel like an epic Japanese music battle. Almost everything you hear from the string plucking to knuckle/wood percussion is koto with the exception of obvious additions like the flute, kick drum, and bass guitar that come later as the song progresses. This will be ear candy to those who have really good earphones/headphones - tons of detail and lots of frills, scratches, sub-melodies the more closely you listen. The sound is a bit unique - closest thing would be if you took techno/psytrance and merged it with something like East Wind / Uttara-Kuru or Band Maiko - but we go a bit crazier with the koto. :P Enjoy and happy new year!
