I made all these songs for Pit Boss!!, a song tournament held by Keffie on Battle of the Bits. As part of the event, each song had to follow a particular theme or constraint chosen by the composer's opponent. Sadly, I only got to make three songs due to a combination of bad luck and plain lack of skill, but I still enjoyed the competition.
Song List:
Song 1( 0:00 )-Banned From Kefdeilthida, Part 2
Created from: 01/05/18-01/06/18
Theme: You must quote and sample an existing song; the song's time signature(s) must be greater than 10 and a prime number.

Result: Won

This is my second favorite song of my entries (Chimeratio thinks it's my best ever, but I think that's just the 11/16). The overall mood is somewhat based on Dancing Mad's fourth segment, but it's more apparent in the second half. Working with 11/16 was a cool experiment, and I tried to liven the piece up a bit by adding counterpoint in the first part and compound meter in the second part. Since I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to sample or quote a song, I did both: the triangle starts playing a heavily altered version of Bach's Fugue in C Minor at 0:27 , and the lead-in to the rock segment samples Harder Better Faster Stronger.
Song 2( 1:40 )-PSG Trio Exposition No. 1 in D# Major
Created on: 01/11/18-01/12/18
Theme: Sound like the 1770's; the song must be in 11/8 time.

Result: Lost

Admittedly, I rushed this one. Since real life prevented me from working on this entry as much as the other two, I had to do a lot of lazy tricks to pad it out to a reasonable length. Overall, not my best work.
Song 3( 3:52 )-Heliocentric Sygyzy
Created on: 01/12/18-01/13/18
Theme: Make HertzDevil proud and use tonal DPCM throughout the song.
Opponent: Charlotte/KFaraday/Keffie
Result: Lost

Out of the three entries, this is by far my favorite; I've never written metal before! HertzDevil has a very unique sound to his music and a distinct composing style (he is pretty much entirely diatonic, for instance). To really nail the essence of this stuff (and to save time) I reused the instruments from Extends Levant. Despite my efforts, however, I narrowly lost with this song to keffie (aka the person who made the contest) by a single vote.

![Mega Man Dimensional Analysis - Lead Lobster! (Lobster Man) [Famitracker 2A03]
My status as a squid musician legally entitles me to write any and all water level themes in the games I compose for, and Mega Man: Dimension Analysis—an upcoming fangame by J8-Bit—was no exception. Lobster Mans stage takes place in a secret underwater base, so I put together a disco-fueled, groovy piece to capture the excitement and danger the player should be feeling as they work their way through its dank corridors. I eventually became so immersed in the track that I ended up writing lyrics for it, but those will (thankfully) never see the light of day.
