Been itching to remix more beach-themed soundtracks; I can't believe I had not yet remixed a beach course from DKR!
This was another incredibly fun one to produce. I can't get over how much I love the Diddy Kong Racing soundtrack. It's just TOO GOOD! And of course, a major shoutout to the original composer, David Wise, for creating such a fantastic OST!

Nintendo 3DS Theme Shop Remix -
The time has finally come...March 27th, 2023. The Nintendo eShop on 3DS & Wii U are scheduled to closed down. Its absolutely crazy to think the 3DS & Wii U era of gaming has officially ended. And for extra context, the Wii Shop Channel closed in January 2019, so not that long ago!
Today, I present you with a SUPER underground deep cut: the 3DS Theme Shop! This is THE most underrated shop theme Nintendo has ever created. Personally, I think this is my favorite shop theme, even above the Wii Shop Channel!
The Theme Shop was where you could purchase customizable themes to alter the backgrounds & music of the home screen!...and it had outrageously catchy music!!! Seriously, the 3DS had so much more personality than any other Nintendo console, and it shows how much effort Nintendo put into the 3DS with the vast amount of sequels, remastered games, and Virtual Console titles on the eShop.
Some brief history: the Nintendo 3DS was the first Nintendo console launched with the new eShop digital distribution service & the first console to offer customizable themes. It was first powered by Nintendo Network in June 2011.
Now, obviously it would have made sense for me to produce a remix to the eShop music...however, I couldnt decide whether I should make a 3DS or Wii U version. Plus, unlike the Switchs painfully silent eShop, the background jingle consistently changed throughout the years, and I didnt feel I could accurately produce a mashup/medley of all the eShop themes, or do justice to just one of them. So that ultimately led me to remix the consistent song heard in the 3DS Theme shop. Trust me, this background music is an absolute banger, and hoping you like it just as much as I have these past 12 years!

Ahh man, what a fantastic DS game. In fact, Bowsers Inside Story might be the best DS game in my honest opinion. Being able to play as Bowser & leveling him up while the brothers are inside was nothing short of a genius storyline.
Mario & Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story released in September 2009, which later had a 3DS remake + Bowser Jr.s Journey, released in January 2019. Me, being the Mario & Luigi freak I am, obtain both versions! ๐
And before you all ask in the comments: yes, I am planning to remix In The Final! Ive been meaning to remix In The Final for a while, but I never feel like my remix is up to the standard it deserves...curses, my perfectionist self!
This battle theme also has like 3 different titles; I believe the original DS soundtrack has the normal battle theme titled as Oki Doki!! - though Ive seen it stylized as Okey Dokey or Okie Dokie & the remake version as Here We Go! DX - its all very confusing, haha ๐

Oh man, where do I begin with how awesome this remix is?! @Equalyze & I decided to remix something from the Paper Mario franchise once the TTYD remake was announced; and he commented indicating his love for the original Paper Mario N64. We had a few other options in mind, but ultimately the Toad Town theme felt right! Not only that, but EQs musical genius suggested the idea of incorporating all the Toad Town variations into the remix!
