This is the polish version of the Spanish song "Viva la Quince Brigada", also known as "Ay Carmela". This version was sung by the members of the XIII Dąbrowski International Brigade.

This brigade was composed mainly of polish volunteers who joined the International Brigades to fight for the Second Spanish Republic against the Nationalist insurgency.

Some 5,000 Poles fought in the Dąbrowski Brigade throughout the war.
