E563: A New Raspberry Pi 500 hits the streets in the white 8gig flavor. Lets show you how to update Pimiga 4 to run on the newest RPI 500 , a few simple steps!
**please note since the time of this filming the debian repository is up to v10, I was version 8 AFTER my update. V10 breaks the sound and forces it to run beyond slow. I am working on a solution please be patient. **

It's the mesa drivers causing the stuttering after update. apt install mesa=22.3.6-1+deb12u1 libgbm1=22.3.6-1+deb12u1 fixed it. It's a mighty big hammer tough that I just tried for testing, downgrading only existing mesa components is probably better. And of course mark them on hold so they don't upgrade later. - i have not tested this to confirm...
Official update instructions for Pimiga4 to run on the new RPI500 Update PiMiga4 to run on a Raspberry PI 500,
Write pimiga4 (RPI5 version 64g split video) as normal, copy Amiga kickstart as defined in the readme no one reads. or use your exsisting pimiga4 install
download the following TWO files on a Computer of your choice.

github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/blob/master/boot/kernel_2712.img
insert pimiga sd card into said computer of choice
Copy the two above downloaded files to the rootfs/boot/firmware folder (on windows this will be the root folder named "bootfs" you will see the other .dtb files there, overwrite/replace if requested.
remove sd card and place in and boot pi500. it will work but not fully, error on startup and wifi not working and no hdmi sound, pimiga slow at 24hz
F12 quit and get back to the xfce desktop
you MUST USE ETHERNET FOR THIS NEXT STEP
open terminal
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

takes between 3 and 20 min depending on your interwebs speeds.
once done sudo reboot and enjoy it at super fast speeds!
