The goal of this challenge is to never see "You've called the Pikmin to you" cutscene that normally plays at the start of day 1.
About this cutscene, I have strong evidence to indicate that this is a 5th cutscene that activates on a cutscene timer, with a trigger that activates when you discover a red Pikmin.
1. There is a ~2 second wait if you don't let the red get close to you
2. It explains why this cutscene can be skipped if I have Cutscene Timer Storage
3. It explains the crash that occurs if I activate the cutscene from being in the proximity of a Pikmin, since this acts like a "reset mechanic" to the timer, but this cutscene and the timer don't match
To avoid confusion, note that there are TWO ways to activate this cutscene. The first is by the timer, and the second is by being too close to a Pikmin. If one of these methods is used, it is impossible to activate the cutscene again using either method.
So in the video, I play through a decent portion of the game under the rules of this challenge to try to find another way to trigger the timer besides discovering red Pikmin. The only thing that could make sense is if discovering other types of Pikmin would trigger the timer too, so I discover all 5 types of Pikmin.
Unfortunately, none of these types of Pikmin triggered the timer in the video. Therefore, I have to conclude that the only way to trigger the timer is by discovering reds.
I also tried discovering bulbmin, and that didn't work either.
If we ever want to store this timer for other files, we need a way to either beat day 1 without discovering reds, or we need the ability to end day 1 immediately after discovering reds.
Note: for some reason, water dumples also don't move under the effect of this challenge...
and dwarf bulbears DO move.
