I am aiming for a 100% Pikmin 1 run while never having a single pikmin die or be left behind AND with the very stringent rule that I am unable to access onion. This means I am disallowed to call any pikmin out of the onion, so in each area I must start from scratch. The category calls for some very unique routing.
Made possible by my discovery of the pellet clip in Foh day 2, allowing early yellow onion access.
Each day you must make sure that there are sufficient pikmin buried so that you don't need to access onions at all. (Buried pikmin do not die overnight).
This category is proving to be very fun!
My routing is still impromptu, and by no means perfect. This isn't meant to be a speedrun, so all that matters is that I did it in an optimal amount of days.

This run is unprecedented and absolutely incredible. I am so proud to bring to you not only a 54, but a mid-54, something I considered impossibly unlikely. If youd told me this a couple of months ago even, Id laugh in your face.

The Wii world record is 51:24 by Jhawk4.
I dont think this will be easy to beat at all, and Im not going to be the one who does it. This is my last all parts PB unless something massive comes along. Im happy my final time will be what I consider representative of my skill level.
I can barely fault the run. There are a few gameplay errors here and there that add up, and Im still a little upset about the cutscenes in DS that could have helped out.
Its been an incredible journey up to this point. Ive improved my sum of bests to 52:55, failed countless times, and recently just BARELY missed the 54 twice, with a 55:01 then a 55:05, both with massive unfortunate errors. I suppose a time like this was a long time coming.
Two major shoutouts to runners who have changed my life:

The majority of this run was taken from iid01. He developed this run further than people thought possible and changed the landscape of this run. He still has incredible gameplay to this day and honestly Im a little paranoid he might come back on NTSC-U and bop me. Im so proud to continue carrying the torch, for now.
Jhawk4
The Wii master, a man with a vast contribution to all Pikmin games, the highest Pikmin IQ, he came along only a year ago, achieved his goal and got out. If it werent for him humbling me (yes, I was even less humble) and working with me about abstract ideas and small timesaves, getting me thinking again after my hiatus, I would never have gotten close to this time.
So shoutouts to iid and Jhawk, the greatest motivators I ever had.

Collecting all parts without ever bringing up the onion menu! Onionless is the name of this category, 1:45:50 was the time.
Its possible to beat the game without ever withdrawing from onions, in fact Ive done it deathless and that was one of the first challenge runs I ever did. Ive never done an RTA run of onionless and I believe this is the first ever.
Its possile to win with this restriction by forcing yellow and blue extinctions every day or keeping them buried in the ground overnight, and with a little help from an OOB clip early on.
The rules for this run, as its a meme category, are much more lenient. Im allowed to start on Day 2 because race file runs are more enjoyable, and I use the Pluckaphone which plucks buried pikmin with only a whistle. Though its a cheat code, its allowed for this run as there would otherwise be a lot of plucking making the whole thing less enjoyable.
