pi3g | PiCockpit free Raspberry Pi Webinterface Tour 2021 (GPIO, BME688, PiDoctor Diagnostics Apps etc) @pi3g | Uploaded August 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
PiCockpit is a a web interface for the Raspberry Pi. It is free for up to 5 Raspberry Pis, and allows you to access your Raspberry Pi from anywhere in the world where you have an Internet connection.

We currently have 6 Apps:

* PiStats: get vital statistics for your pi - see CPU load, CPU (SoC) temperature, RAM usage, free space on your harddrive and more
* GPIO: control GPIO pins and read their state (includes SoftwarePWM LED Dimming via slider)
* PiDoctor: run diagnostics on your Raspberry Pi, find out where it was manufactured, the exact revision, etc., see if your Pi is overheating or if your power supply is too weak (undervoltage)
* PiControl: run commands on your Raspberry Pi - reboot, shut down your Pi, or update picockpit-client. You can also define your own custom commands and run them from the webinterface with the click of a button
* BME688 AirMeter: monitor air humidity, air pressure, air temperature, and IAQ (indoor air quality) - supports the popular Bosch BME680 and BME688 sensors.
* CO2 Sensor: Supports the EE895 sensor module (E+E Electronics), shows very precise CO2 values, allows you to prevent headaches, fatigue, concentration issues & performance loss at work. Know when it is time to open your windows to let fresh air into your room and more oxygen into your life :-)

We are looking for your input on which apps to add next - comment below, or share with us using our e-Mail address (see the end of the video)!

Some more details:

You can see which Pi is online, and which is offline.
You can also see the IP addresses of your Pis – the public IP and the private IPs.
Your Pis can be located anywhere in the world - as long as they have an internet connection, you can access them with PiCockpit.

Checking your Raspberry Pi SoC (CPU) temperature with PiStats is very useful, for example, to see if your Raspberry Pi is overheating during operation and a heatsink or different case would be a good idea.

PiDoctor:
In the WLAN module you can see the WLAN networks around your Pi.
The Network Module shows you the IP addresses and network interfaces that are active on your Pi. This is a good start for diagnosing network problems.
The System Module provides a lot of information about your Pi. It is very handy for diagnosing problems with under-voltage and overheating.
You can also see how much free space is left on the Raspberry Pi, where it was manufactured, and the model and revision of your Raspberry Pi.

GPIO:
The GPIO app makes it really easy to read the state of your Raspberry's GPIO pins, and control them.
To add a new pin, just select it from the dropdown menu, and click Add. You will see the pin’s state immediately.
Using the Configure button you can make further settings. Among other things you can change the names of the pin, and the states. For example, a GPIO pin that indicates the state of the cat flap (open / closed) can be named correctly and you can see that at a glance.
The GPIO output, or output, has a toggle switch with which the pin can be turned on and off.
If you don't need a pin anymore, you can remove it from PiCockpit using the "Remove" button.
The settings will of course be preserved, even after you close the browser window.
A special highlight is the software PWM section. Here you have a slider for the GPIO pins. For example you can use this to dim an LED continuously.

If you have any problems or requests, or if you would like to use more than 5 Raspberry Pis, please contact us at the e-mail address mentioned at the end of the video.

Thank you for watching!
