Pick It Small or Lose It All
Sometimes in the garden, you have to take the win — even if it’s a tiny one.
Maybe the plant didn’t get enough sun. Maybe pests took out the main fruit. Or maybe it’s just the end of the season and things aren’t ripening the way you hoped. But that small pepper, tomato, squash, or onion is still food. Still effort. Still success.
I’d rather harvest a healthy, undersized crop than let a perfect one rot, crack, or get chewed up waiting on “ideal.” Don’t be afraid to pick early and get something off the plant. Because “next year I’ll do better” starts with learning from this year’s imperfect harvests.
🌱 Farm & Field Takeaway: Don’t let perfection get in the way of productivity. Small harvests still count — and often taste just as good.
