PhysX3D v16.2 contains two major improvements:

The Velocity Verlet Integrator:
This Integrator is of order two, but it only requires one evaluation of the acceleration function per step. However, the main criteria is that it is symplectic, meaning it does conserve the total energy as well as the total angular momentum of the system besides round-off errors. This makes it perform more than 1000x better than Runge-Kutta-Nyström 4(5)th order at large time steps.
For comparison

Visualization of the 3D Barnes-Hut Tree
This is just for graphical purposes, since aparapi does not support recursion. However, the tree generation works fluidly even at 5000 bodies.
