Vivid Photo Visual | Physiotherapy - How to perform the Split Squat Exercise @VividPhotoVisual | Uploaded 8 years ago | Updated July 26 2023
This is a good exercise for any sport that requires lower limb stability. It is also a good exercise for those with knee pain as it works on appropriate biomechanical alignment meaning it teaches the body to move in a pattern that puts less strain on the joints. Quite a common finding in runners with knee pain is a 'valgus' knee position when performing a single leg squat. 'Valgus' means the knee falls inside the foot rather than in line with the second toe. This can strain either the inside or outside of the knee, as well as the hip and ankle. This exericse, when performed with focus, can start to retrain the body to move in better alignment. #physiotherapyvideo #kneepainrelief #physiovideo #sportsinjuryvideo
