I tried to give as complete a visual tour of the plans for both Photographic and Televisual Portals as I had the depictions to share.
Both Photographic and Televisual Portals follow from the inverse relationship between invisibility and holodecks. In Photographic Portals, one portal's photographic cloak becomes the other portal's photographic holodeck. This is also true for the more advanced high-tech Televisual Portals; One portal's optic-electronic cloak becomes the other portal's optic-electronic holodeck.
While the Photographic Portal pairs have simple photographic representations, the Televisual Portal pair are real-time dual-televised transmitted light information images of each other's cloaks and holodecks.
All of this follows from the most basic insight that I discovered so long ago in or around 1994: Invisibility and holodecks are inverse forms of each other. And holodecks are a by-product of invisibility.
You can't have a holodeck without capturing images of the outside world, first employed as a cloak and then turned outside-in to create each other's holodecks!
