Philip Lewis And His Dance Orchestra, a British Decca studio band directed by Arthur Lally (a.k.a The Rhythm Maniacs), play "He's A Good Man To Have Around", with superb solos by Arthur Lally on baritone sax followed by trumpeter Sylvester Ahola. Bass player Tiny Stock plays bass sax rather than tuba. Nice vocals by Elsie Carlisle too.
Decca was struggling with its recording quality at this early stage, and things didn't improve until the company refitted its Chenil Galleries studio in September-October 1929.
