Phil Broadhurst’s composition 'Black Suede Boots' was named for a situation at the Tauranga Jazz Festival where Phil forgot his shoes and, having only trainers, had to buy a pair of new shoes in which to perform. Tim Atkinson arranged the track for the Auckland Jazz Orchestra, which he also directs, as seen in this SOUNZ Film from the 2024 Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival. Glenn Bartlett (trombone) and Nathan Collings (guitar) are the soloists.
