The band, Ph.D. - a UK new wave synth duo consisting of Jim Diamond and Jeff Beck Group’s Tony Hymas - released the single in 1981 with their self titled debut album. The follow up single, I Won’t Let You Down, was their biggest hit, charting in several countries.
