Monken Hadley Church, is the stabilizing northern point of the Barnet Triangle. Built from flintstone in the late 15th century, this beautiful but haunting location sits directly on ancient ley lines.
Monken Hadley Church has a rare medieval copper beacon on the church tower, originally lit by monks as a "spiritual lighthouse" to ward off supernatural darkness from nearby Enfield Chase. I also look at the dark origins of the church's 1494 rebuild, explicitly constructed as a memorial chapel for the slaughtered soldiers of the bloody Battle of Barnet.
