A dark descent into 90s FMV horror. Experience Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh — Sierra’s controversial adventure from 1996, where psychological horror, surreal imagery, and real actors blend into one interactive movie.
Unlike the first Phantasmagoria, the sequel told a new story — following office worker Curtis Craig as he descends into paranoia, trauma, and madness. Featuring real actors, full-motion video, and more ambitious cinematic direction, A Puzzle of Flesh became rather infamous among 90s adventure fans. I deliberately shortened some of the “love” scenes, as otherwise I would have gotten into trouble with YouTube.
Although only 15 months of development have passed since the first part, the video quality of the game has improved significantly. The actors and camera work also appear more professional. Nevertheless, there are almost no puzzles and the screenplay is getting worse by the minute; the second half in particular is ridiculous.
