I show the cinematics of the cult classic Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000. Released in 1997 and published by the legendary Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI), this game was the first to truly bring the "Epic" scale of the Warhammer 40,000 universe to the PC. This turn based strategy game is perhaps most remembered for its iconic and funny live-action videos or FMVs.
🎬 The Legend of the FMVs
Before high-end CGI became the norm, we had real actors in physical sets. Final Liberation features legendary Full Motion Video (FMV) sequences that capture the 40k aesthetic with a unique 90s charm. From the stern commands of Commissar Holt to the wonderfully "trashy" practical effects of the Orks, these scenes are a time capsule of early grimdark media.

📜 The Story
The campaign takes place on the planet Volistad. After the world falls to an Ork invasion led by the Warlord Skumgrod, the Imperium of Man sends the forces of the Imperial Guard and the Ultramarines to reclaim the lost territory. This video follows the entire narrative arc through every briefing and cinematic encounter.
