PÖFF welcomes you to the international premiere of the Spanish road movie “Leo & Lou,” a heartfelt and bittersweet story about a match made in heaven — a young girl who cannot speak and an old man who does not know how to listen. We invite you to join their journey and grow alongside them.
The young yet already successful Spanish filmmaker Carlos Solano graduated in audiovisual communication from Rey Juan Carlos University 14 years ago. Since then, his short films — “We Are Friends”, “The 27 Club ” and “Strangers on the Road” — have received numerous awards and nominations, and his works have been screened at more than 150 film festivals worldwide.

Tallinna Pimedate Ööde filmifestival toob teieni saate “Meet the filmmakers”, peaosas film “Leo ja Lou”. Intervjuu filmi režissööri Carlos Solanoga, kellega vestles Karin Martinson.

Selles filmis, mis paneb nii nutma kui naerma, kohtuvad kaks tegelast, kes näivad justkui teineteise jaoks loodud: väike tüdruk Leo, kes on tumm, ning keskealine mees Lou, kes on elust väsinud ega jaksa enam kuulata. Seiklused, kuhu nad satuvad, muudavad nii neid kui ka filmivaatajat.
Noor ja andekas Hispaania filmitegija Carlos Solano lõpetas 14 aastat tagasi Madridi Rey Juan Carlose ülikooli audiovisuaalse kommunikatsiooni erialal. Pärast seda on tema lühifilmid “Me oleme sõbrad”, “The 27 Club” ja “Võõrad teel” pälvinud mitmeid auhindu ja tiitleid ning tema filme on näidatud enam kui 150 festivalil üle maailma.
