Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival brings you "Meet the Filmmakers" episode “Happiness is living in our land”. Interview with the director Indrek Spungin, interviewer Marianna Kaat.

This documentary takes the viewer on a journey to the Soviet Union in the 1980s, where the regime controlled everything, but gave the people nothing, not even food. As a countermeasure to the regime, four friends gather one night to lay the grounds for their new punk-rock band called Velikje Luki. The rest is history.
The director Indrek Spungin has done almost everything there is to do in the Estonian culture-scene: worked as a journalist, helped bring music festivals to life, he has performed in movies and theatre, made music and movies. Among them “Domesticated Russians”, “L is for Love”, “Happiness Is Living in Our Land” and many more to come.

Tallinna Pimedate Ööde filmifestival toob teieni saate “Meet the filmmakers”, peaosas film ““Õnn on elada me maal”. Intervjuu filmi režissööri Indrek Spunginiga, kellega vestles Marianna Kaat.

See dokumentaalfilm võtab vaataja kaasa Nõukogude aega, täpsemalt 1980ndate lõppu, mil eestlastele teadagi julmus valitses maad: polnud süüa ega ilusaid asju, vabadusest rääkimata. Režiimile vastuoksaks kogunesid neli sõpra ühel õhtul kokku, et teha algust uue punkbändiga, mille nimeks sai Velikje Luki. Ja edasine on ajalugu.
Filmi režissöör Indrek Spungin on Eesti kultuurimaastikul teinud peaaegu kõike: õppinud usuteaduskonnas, kirjutanud artikleid kultuuriportaalidele, korraldanud muusikafestivale, mänginud filmides ja teatris, loonud muusikat ning vändanud filme — nende hulgas “Enam kui elu”, “A nagu armastus” ja nüüd “Õnn on elada me maal”.
