I couldn't get this to work for an hour until I realised I was going way too fast so the guard always caught me lol.
Anyway, this is for new 2nd cycle, in which a bomb shop trip would be skipped. Therefore we need to save chus so we do a different grotto wrong exit and we dupe over bombs instead of chus.
- Keep your angle after getting past the first guard
- get near to the barrels (but don't walk right up against them!)
- turn 90 degrees
- As long as you're not too fast, pull out a chu
- When the chu turns black after the 3rd red flash, shield drop the chu
- Put on zora mask, climb up barrel like normal and neutral roll
- Wait for the chu to explode
- Steer very slightly right mid-jump in order to grab the tank
