Carving a Legacy
James “Jim” Hart, a master Haida artist, sculptor, and hereditary chief, carries forward the rich traditions of Haida formline design. An apprentice of Bill Reid, Hart blends traditional artistry with contemporary storytelling, as seen in his monumental “Reconciliation Pole" at the University of British Columbia.
