Accountability Angel | Peru PD 1st amendment REMATCH! Transparency - Accountability - Redemption @AccountabilityAngel | Uploaded February 2024 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
I had encountered Chief Raymond at earlier points in her career, prior to becoming Chief and prior to my filmed activism. I believe those encounters led to my initial disappointment in the participation refusal. I realized during the time of filming "Part 2" of this video that she felt like I had ill intentions with my specific question and the camera. At the time, I believed my kidnapping "arrest" and local chatter may have led her to think negative intentions were within my motive of initiating a pop quiz. As always, that's never the case, I take pride in showing a job well done . I am proud that Chief Raymond not only redeemed herself, she participated in my pop quiz (finally), knocked out all five: Speech, Religion , Press, Assemble, Petition and in doing so, showed the effort towards bridging the gap between the people and our law enforcement. She may or may not have known during my pop quiz, but she has joined the small group of officers who have redeemed themselves from any score less than 100%. Chief Raymond, Officer Jones (Grundy County Jail) and Deputy Argus (LaSalle Co Jail) remain the only 3 who initially REFUSED yet followed up later with a solid 5/5. *In her defense, Officer Jones admitted defeat as she refused*.
Chief Raymond remains the ONLY individual who's refusal initiated redemption was recorded, as both Jones and Argus were given their quizzes during my six weekend vacation in jail. As she always is, Christie DeGroot was kind, smiling and helpful....and yes she swooped in and saved the day too.
