On January 2, 2024 I visited the Eureka, IL City Hall/Police Department. Cam did a great job treating me fairly, attempting to understand what I was needing, explaining what he could while I asked many questions about different processes. I was treated well by Melissa, the city administrator as well. Her behavior vs the behavior by the El Paso City Administrator was strikingly different just hours apart. I give this visit a solid first amendment pass, although the complaint process needed some adjustments- the employees I encountered seemed to be helpful and aware of my (our) basic rights- treating me with respect throughout. I left behind some notes on their complaint form- suggestions on where their form needed to change when everything was said and over. Well done Eureka.
