The Magneto X from Peopoly was the company’s first FDM 3D printer. Furthermore, it included linear motors to do away with belts and pulleys. After examining the technical aspects of this system previously, I set out to give this machine a proper review. After many hours of tuning, printing and fitting updated parts, we aim to answer two questions. Is this printer ideal for engineering style filaments, and does it ‘just work’ or require a level of tinkering?

![3D printed large CNC: Lowrider2 upgrades
If you want a large CNC router, and are happy to save a lot of money by making it yourself, it’s hard to go past the Lowrider2 from V1 Engineering. It is added to an existing table, which dictates the working area, and cuts down the price. In this video, I take my functional Lowrider2 and make it more user friendly, thanks to upgrading the belt tensioning system, cable management and electronics case.
I have a few large projects on the horizon where I expect to use the Lowrider2 in the future. If you want to build one of these, perhaps wait for the upcoming Lowrider3.

Check out my 2nd channel, TT Racing: https://www.youtube.com/@ttracingYT
Building on my previous breakdown of over centre and cam mechanisms, in this video we explore four bar linkages. This is another versatile mechanism that can be configured in numerous ways. In this video, I design and 3d print a modular version so these configurations can be tested and demonstrated. We explore scenarios for introducing motors and servos too.

![Adding more tools! - Budget Sovol SV08 toolchanger part 2
Check out my 2nd channel, TT Racing: https://www.youtube.com/@TTRacingYT
I own a five tool Prusa XL, which is now working pretty well. For many people though, this 3D printer is just too expensive. In this series, we are attempting to take a StealthChanger toolchanger mod intended for the Voron 2.4, and adapt it to the Sovol SV08 Voron clone. In this episode, I answer some questions, add some 2020 extrusions, work out how to add multiple toolheads and complete the wiring for this.
This printer and the additional parts were received free of charge from Sovol for the purposes of making this series. Everything else I’ve paid for myself.
Fingers crossed part 3 is much faster..

Check out my 2nd channel, TT Racing: https://www.youtube.com/@ttracingYT
It’s time for some home based injection molding. I’ve had this machine since 2014, but it has been sitting idle for a while now, due to an error on my part. Last time, I smashed some stuff to get it unseized. This video is all about mold making. Including 3D printing molds for silicone, and CNC milling aluminium molds for plastic using the Carvera desktop CNC. Not everything went as planned..
Please note that this machine is sold to suit 110V mains voltage. In Australia we use 220V, and I’m pretty sure I removed one heater and converted the other. If you also use 220V, you would need to do the same or use a step down converter.
