Marian McPartland and Peggy Lee became friends after crossing paths performing in Chicago and New York in the 1940s and '50s. Marian is credited with helping make 'Piano Jazz' one of the most popular programs in the history of public radio. A song of hers, "Afterglow" inspired Peggy Lee to write lyrics, which she recorded under the title "In The Days Of Our Love."
