I did some basic testing of various PCI-E Power Cables that are commonly used in mining setups. This definitely isn't a thorough test at each individual pin, but should give you a high level idea of temp differences and why a minimum of 18ga is critical.
The test was conducted using an infrared thermometer and not with any specialty equipment. This isn't and end all be all test, but is what I personally used to determine which power cables I'm going to purchase moving forward.
