Mathematician and retired computer specialist Patricia Dean is a member of the British Computing Society, and Mensa – and questions the work of Einstein and the nature of time. Patricia says: “How do you move faster than light? Well, you can’t, can you? After all, Einstein said so and wasn’t he a genius and all round ‘very clever person’? But – why did he say that lightspeed was the absolute barrier to motion? And that any object loses length, gains mass and runs out of time the faster it moves? Could he really prove all that? The history of science is littered with clever ideas that were shown to be plain wrong. But surely Einstein can’t have been wrong… or was he? What I demonstrate, you may find astonishing: I hope people will find it liberating. And fun.”
