'Forget Me Nots' is a great song with a fantastic bassline. It was the first single to be released from Patrice Rushen’s seventh album, Straight from the Heart. As well as being a hit for Patrice Rushen back in 1982, it was sampled by Will Smith in 1997 for his hit song 'Men in Black'. The song is anchored by session bassist Freddie Washington’s infectious slap bass part. Washington also co-wrote the track with Rushen and songwriter Terri McFaddin.
