Path of Exile 2's 0.3.0 Rise of the Abyssal expansion gave a HUGE amount of new crafting power with Greater Augments, Essences, Omens and Abyss crafting. It's overwhelming because of so many "bits" but crafting is pretty accessible - here's how to get started
