patatap.com [WARNING: FLASHING LIGHTS]
App for iOS: itunes.apple.com/us/app/patatap/id880626868?ls=1&mt=8
Patatap is an audio visual beatbox that let's you play the internet like an instrument. When you open the Patatap site and type a letter on your keyboard (or touch the screen on the app) it simultaneously triggers an animation and sound in your browser allowing you to make polyphonic polyoptic beats and images at the same time. It is part art, app and instrument all rolled into one.
Patatap was originally released in 2014 by Jono Brandel and Lullatone.
For the 7 year anniversary, we updated the app to receive MIDI input. Now you can control the sound and visuals with external MIDI controllers or Ableton (send MIDI wirelessly using the IAC or network setting)
For the online version, just go to
patatap.com/?midi=true in Chrome
to use the MIDI enabled version. It should automatically detect any MIDI inputs. We hope you have a lot of fun playing with it!
Thanks for checking it out,
Shawn & Yoshimi & Jono
