Every night from January 24-28, 1994, the Sci-Fi Channel ran a different kaiju movie in the evening and early morning hours as part of its Tokyo Under Siege: It Started with Godzilla marathon, the channel's first of many Godzilla movie marathons. "King Kong Escapes" was movie no. 2, broadcast Tuesday January 25.
The other films were "Godzilla on Monster Island" (Monday), "Godzilla vs. Megalon" (Wednesday), "Mothra" (Thursday), and "Godzilla vs. the Cosmic Monster" (Friday). In fact, it was one hell of a week for U.S. Godzilla fans with cable TV, as TNT ran its five Godzilla movies on Saturday the 29th.
