In this video, Louise takes three of the images produced in the first part of this series and continues to print on them. Louise prints as many as nine layers on two of these images to produce rich, textured and multi-faceted abstracts.
Continuing her exploration of mark-making, Louise demonstrates how to make reusable templates to enhance your mark-making repertoire. She demonstrates the method you can utilise and expand upon with your designs and paint application methods.
It is a useful technique, full of potential, which allows the use of shape, colour and texture that can only be achieved through this type of application.
The marks are printed using a Gel plate and also a silicone brush. Opaque or translucent colours and shapes can be layered to create interest and depth.
In this demo, Louise uses acrylic paint and some acrylic glaze medium; you can use either matte or gloss.
