The “paradox of choice” is a psychological concept that states the more choices we have, the less satisfied we feel with our decisions. Too many choices = brain overload.

Related to this is “decision fatigue”, which is the exhaustion we feel when we are constantly weighing the pros and cons of which choice to make in any given situation.

Whether it’s choosing a loaf of bread from 10 shelves full of every possible variety of bread, choosing a hotel or flight, or, as Nini shares, choosing what to do with your future, the paradox of choice is real.

Thank you, Nini, for defining this psychological term that touches on a very relatable experience.
