LimeWave | Paradise island - a sandbank in the Indian Ocean, Tanzania @Limewave | Uploaded March 2016 | Updated October 2024, 14 minutes ago.
A Ngalawa, a traditional Tanzanian sailboat, took us from the northern tip of Pemba, heading northbound in the Zanzibar archipelago and stopped at a small island of sand that appears in the ocean only at low-tide.
For a few hours we got the sandbank in the Indian ocean to ourselves, among warm clear azure waters. It was a truly amazing experience. Within a few hours time, it would all be gone and not appear until next day.
