In this video I am making two paper lanterns in a very easy way. I am using old books and fussy cut images, dies and artificial small leaves as embellishments.
Today is St. Maarten day in the Netherlands. A day for children to go from door to door singing songs and getting sweets as a treat for their singing. It is similar to Halloween, Without the scary elements though.
And there also is a more social aspect to me making lanterns: I want to send some warmth and love to people who are feeling lonely at the moment/ Elderly people in my village and some elderly friends of mine here in the Netherlands. I want to make a lantern every day, at least until Winter Solstice, The shortest day of the year in the Northen Hemisphere.
Will you join me in making these lanterns that are light enough to send by post, without costing you a fortune.
Thank you for being here and reading this.
Hugs
Maud
