maud hiemstra | How to crochet forget me not’s, simple crochet flowers @maudhiemstra | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
This is my first ever attempt at teaching crochet on YouTube and the English terminology had me puzzled.
There are so many different terms used in English UK and English US, that I am giving you a list of them, and one in Dutch (for my Dutch subscribers 🥰🇳🇱
This is the pattern in English US:
Start of with a slip knot, I am showing you how to in the video.
Then start with one single crochet into that loop, followed by 8 more single crochet and end this round with a slip stitch into the first stitch of this round.
Change the color
Make two chain stitches, two double crochet in the next stitch, two chain stitches and a slip stitch into the same stitch. (this is one petal)
Do 4 more petals like this and end with a slip stitch into the first stitch.
Pull on all the tails and your flower is ready.
Terminologie:
Dutch——————English US————English UK
Schuif knoop ——Slip knot—————Slip knot
Vaste——————Single crochet——-Double Crochet
Halve vaste———Slip stitch————-Slip Stitch
Losse—————-Chain stitch————Chain Stitch
Stokje————-Double crochet———Half trebble crochet
I will be using these forget me not’s In my journal of stitchery and here is the playlist of that journal:
