15 years ago today, on a Thursday morning, Oprah Winfrey walked into my father’s grocery store to make my wildest dream come true. As you know, that moment forever changed the direction of my life and sent me on a journey that I never could have predicted. The tears, the jumping up and down, and the excitement was not only because Oprah Winfrey herself just made a dream come true for me – it was also because I finally felt free. During the past 15 years, I found the courage and strength to come out to my entire family which led me to finding my soul-mate and creating “A Spoonful of Paolo” with him. Oprah Winfrey, who has continued to be a part of my life during these 15 years, has reminded me to never stop dreaming BIG and to always be my authentic self. You can’t live your dream if you are holding back and not being authentically you. You also can’t live your dream if you wait for someone to give it to you. Whatever your dream is, just believe in yourself and take that first small step to create your own opportunities. The reward is in the journey. Thank you all for your love and support during these last 15 years. I know for sure that I would not be living the life I have now if it wasn’t for my husband, my family and friends, and, of course, Oprah Winfrey. I love you all.
