The Orleans Public Defender’s Office (OPD) joined the Center for Racial Justice at Dillard University for a United in Our Rights presentation covering citizens' 4th, 5th and 6th Amendment rights as well as an overview of OPD. The Orleans Public Defender's Office represents nearly 20,000 people each year utilizing a client-centered, community-oriented defense model that puts the client first and takes a 360-degree approach to advocacy and representation. Clients are recognized as unique individuals, and OPD works to address their needs both in the court and out. OPD protects innocence, defends the constitution, demands justice and holds power accountable. The discussion will be moderated by Daniel Goldstein, OPD NLADA Community Partnerships VISTA.

Our panelists were:
- Alicia Frison, OPD Staff Attorney
- Robert Jones, OPD Director of Community Outreach
- Bianca Moore, OPD Staff Attorney
- Jamal Poole-Preston, OPD Staff Investigator
