A Sphere inside a Sphere. Not your normal everyday item, especially from Pallet Wood.
The Sphere inside is solid, where three slats from a pallet were glued together to create the blank. That was turned in the normal way that I always make spheres.
The open segmented Sphere tool a lot more planning. Once the plans were made cutting and preparing all the pieces was nice and easy, just taking time as with any segmented project.
To make the sphere as accurate as possible I created a gauge / template to keep checking that I had the correct shape.
Everything was sanded to 600 grit and finished off with a gloss spray lacquer.
