More than 200 ORNL employees joined forces with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee to pack 8,000 weekend food bags for local students. Through the Food for Kids program, these volunteers are helping ensure children experiencing food insecurity return to school each Monday nourished and ready to learn. Over six years, the annual event has packed enough food to support 750 students for an entire school year.
