Future Foundries is an innovative manufacturing platform introduced by the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory at the 2024 International Manufacturing Technology Show. This advanced platform integrates various manufacturing techniques, allowing for the efficient production of parts from start to finish. It can use different feedstocks and produce components that meet stringent qualification and certification standards.

A smart manufacturing thread connects all parts of the platform, facilitating communication among robotic systems and providing operators with data to enhance production speed, enable real-time adjustments, and guide future improvements. Until now, no other platform on the market could seamlessly integrate these discrete manufacturing processes.
