Here is some of the music I penned for Overwatch 2! Writing music for the Esperança map was a joy. I have long loved Fado and its essence full of "saudade". This was my first time using Portuguese guitar (although I used to drool over those at the lutherie workshop I used to attend as a teenager).
Bringing Fado into the optimistic and futuristic feel of the Overwatch franchise was a really fun creative problem to solve.
The map looks downright gorgeous, full of lovely details, and captures exceedingly well the spirit of a couple of well-known Portuguese cities.
Thanks so much to the Overwatch 2 team for their guidance and collaborative spirit! The feedback from players has been heartwarming, too.
