Located in Woodstock NY, the Fire Tower trail is nice to hike. There is a new parking lot and trail head called Meads Meadow. The trail to the main parking lot is wooded and runs along a creek. The trail from the main lot up to the Overlook Mountain House ruins (1833-1920) is a gravel dust road. From Meads Meadow to the fire tower is 3.2 miles. There is a fire pit and outhouse on top of the mountain. The views are beautiful.
