PODCAST SEASON 5 - OVERLAND THROUGH SOUTHEAST ASIA
Driving north from the Malaysian border our first stop is Ko Yo island. We don't find the cotton industry that should be here, but it is picturesque with a nice view of the fish farms. On the island is a traditional, but very extensive folklore museum about the south of Thailand. In Nakhon Si Thammarat we visit Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, the most important Buddhist temple in southern Thailand with a stupa built in the 13th century. We make a stop at Chian Yai harbour to see how the fishing vessels are loaded and unloaded. We take a boat to Koh Tao Island en enjoy its superb snorkelling possibilities.
