MrThunderwing | Outrun 2 - Real Arcade Twin Cabinet @MrThunderwing | Uploaded December 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Thanks to fellow Bristolian YouTuber @UKARCADES2015 I found out about an arcade centre in the middle of my home city that had a twin Outrun 2 cabinet, when I was in the process of making my recently released '35 Years of Outrun' mega documentary, which you can find here:

This was a pretty awesome local find, as the majority of stuff in there was just redemption machines, and it was great to get some real arcade cabinet footage to use in the video.
Unfortunately though, the steering was a bit knackered on both sides - way too loose with a mega deadzone and no centering motor & no ffb. The steering was so loose it actually made trying to select the right car really tricky - I was trying to pick the Testarossa and accidentally selected the yellow beginner one by mistake. The brake pedal (on both sides) was weird too. It worked, but it was just like a solid block that didn't actually move at all. It didn't even have a little bit of up and down 'give' like an arcade button, you just touched your foot on it and the brakes happened.
I was also trying to play one handed which didn't help. The CRTs had also been swapped out for LCD monitors that were in the wrong aspect ratio. Still great to see one of these in the wild again though. It's been a looooong time...
There might be a bit of spicy language in places in this...
