MrThunderwing | Power Drift (Real 2 Player game using MAME link play) @MrThunderwing | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
This is a real 2 player game of Power Drift with me (2P Red) against my mate Neil (1P Blue), that didn't go quite according to plan.... This is using a work-in-progress MAME Sega Y board link-up, created by MAME link-up technowizardess SailorSat. Things went a bit wrong in the 2 Player game as I explain in the video intro and after Neil left I ended up just doing a quick 1 player game in the 2 screen network to add in.
This is 2 versions of MAME linked up in a network on the same PC acting like they're two linked up arcade cabinets. Because of the way the MAME link-up works, you can only have 1 player using a pad, because if an emulator is 'not in focus' it doesn't pick up any pad inputs, meaning only the version of MAME that's been clicked on will work with the pad. However, the out of focus version of MAME will stick pick up keyboard inputs, so I let Neil have the pad and I'm using the keyboard.
You can get some info and links to get a hold of these versions of MAME over at the BYOAC forum here:
