Teachers, students and friends at climber #NirmalPurja’s former school have been paying tribute to the star, after he died in an avalanche on Pakistan’s Broad Peak.

Purja studied at Small Heaven School for eight years before embarking on a career in the British Army and later becoming a mountaineering star. He shot to fame in 2019 for climbing the world’s fourteen highest peaks in just over six months, shattering the record at the time.
