Outdoor Research founder Ron Gregg was a nuclear physicist who spent as much time as possible exploring the edges of the map. He brought the scientific method to the backcountry, applying his skills as a researcher to solve the outdoors' biggest challenges.
Today, Outdoor Research continues to follow the stage set by Ron in 1981. We make products that allow people to be more protected and prepared when exploring outdoors, whether it’s their first time or thousandth time. We seek solutions that give more people equal opportunity in the outdoors, breaking down barriers that would otherwise prevent access. We partner with organizations and ambassadors who give back to our outdoor community and inspire us to grow, learn, and work more closely together.
This year we’re proud to celebrate the creation of the most technical outerwear and accessories, since 1981.
